Overview
The Internal Ethical Committee is an independent, multidisciplinary body constituted by the institution as per ICMR National Ethical Guidelines. IEC is responsible for reviewing all research proposals involving human participants, human data, or human biological materials to ensure ethical conduct and protection of participant rights.
Objectives
Ethical Review: Evaluate scientific design, risk-benefit ratio, and ethical aspects of research proposals before approval
Participant Protection: Safeguard dignity, rights, safety, and well-being of research participants at all stages
Informed Consent: Review Participant Information Sheet and Informed Consent Form for clarity, voluntariness, and language
Monitoring: Conduct periodic review of ongoing studies, review adverse events and protocol amendments
