Overview

The Department of Adult Health Nursing (Medical–Surgical Nursing) focuses on preparing nursing students to deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care to adult patients in diverse healthcare settings. The program is structured to bridge theory and clinical practice, ensuring progressive development of knowledge, psychomotor skills, and professional attitudes.

The teaching–learning process incorporates lectures, simulation-based training, skill lab practice, clinical postings, case presentations, nursing care plans, and OSCE to enhance competency. Emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, patient safety, and quality care standards.

Students are exposed to various specialties including medical wards, surgical units, ICUs, emergency departments, and specialty clinics. The department also promotes research orientation, interprofessional collaboration, and lifelong learning, preparing students to become competent nursing professionals and future healthcare leaders.
