School Health Programme

As a part of curricular requirements in Community Health Nursing, the Fourth Year B.Sc Nursing Students of Carmel College of Nursing, Aluva conducted a School Health Programme on 17th February 2017. The objective of the program was to identify the main health issues of the students and to create awareness related to internet addiction, menstrual hygiene and lifestyle diseases. The program started with the inaugural ceremony. The presence of Rev. Fr. James Meledath, Manager, Jyothi Public School, Chunangamvely, Dr. Sr. Christeena, Dept. Of PMR was a real blessing. The awareness program started with a role play on internet addiction, followed by health check up by Dr. Sr. Christeena and health teaching. The cooperation of the staff and students were really appreciable. The main issues identified were overweight, poly menorrhagia, anemia and dysmenorrhoea. A detailed list of the health problems and the report were handed over to the faculty of the school.
